A red carpet of maple leaves waits undisturbed, Hartford, NY
leaf song
a gentle tapping
as the breeze blows,
on soft golden wings
leaves fall, coming
to rest on hard slate
as I watch, listening
more and more drift
down from the trees,
the sky, singing,
towards their end
scattered, shuffled,
under bright sunshine,
making sweet music
their last, I know,
on earth forever
Listen to this poem read aloud:
Lovely! Keep writing beautifully
Thank you!
